ForestAngel is a forest fire detection system that can be used to protect special interest areas or complete forests.

The system is based on one or more autonomous remote lookout stations, a centralized processing server and the overview console. The autonomous lookout stations collect information, which is then transmitted to the centralized processing server. The information is then processed and displayed by the overview console. In case of a fire, the overview console gives a visual and audible alarm to the user. The main purpose of the system is to timely identify forest fires and pin-point their geographical locations, so that the appropriate fire-fighting units can be dispatched to the correct location in the most effective way.
